Not Forgetting!

Last October, I had the distinct pleasure of standing on stage as a groomsman for my good friend Eric Sundene. As we looked back to the past, we definitely had a lot to laugh about and shake our heads about. The one thing that connected four out of six of the guys was CCF.

We began to take a glimpse back and engage in what we had learned: the community that took place, healing in our lives, discipleship, mission trips, etc. Who can forget building the homecoming floats at 3 a.m., and how many of us took off cross-country in one of Tom’s many planes? It is really good to remember and not forget. It is good to think back to where you were and where you are now.

What was it for you that made the light bulb come on? Another fellow Redmen (or River Hawk), a CCF service, mission trip, 2:7 series study, small group, or just being surrounded by such a great community? The importance is that CCF connected me and many others to Christ in a very significant way. For that I am forever indebted.

The reality is CCF is still connecting students to Christ and His Kingdom. In fact, many of us were present to celebrate CCF’s 40 anniversary not too long ago, and we saw the impact that was still taking place. Tom, Barb, and leadership students are still working diligently to see life change occur on the campus of NSU.

Let me challenge you to not forget the impact that CCF made on your life, and the countless lives it is still touching. Also, don’t forget that in order for this impact to continue, CCF must be supported. It takes financial gifts, prayers, and hard work to pull off what CCF does each year.

So now that I have you thinking about impact, think about the impact your dollar or your prayers might continue to have at CCF. Will you consider partnering with Tom and Barb by giving, praying and helping maintain that impact? Another life changed for Christ will forever be indebted.

CCF is a non-denominational ministry on the campus of Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

We teach students to be disciplined followers of Jesus Christ and bold leaders on campus, in our communities, and in the world. Founded in 1970 to share the gospel at NSU in dorms and other student residences, CCF has since seen thousands of students grow in their faith and become active participants in the Kingdom.

We worship every Tuesday night in the spring and fall. We experience praise, worship, teaching, and drama. Students gather to draw encouragement from one other and fellowship.
